About Us
The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) is an independent, not-for-profit and not-
partisan think and do-tank that is dedicated to providing strategic analysis, project management and technical advisory, capacity building and advocacy on questions of democratic and economic governance, human rights, peacebuilding, security sector transformation, and sustainable development in West Africa.

CDD is inviting suitably qualified external auditors to submit expressions of interest for
independent audit services and objective evaluation of our financial statements and internal
controls.
Responsibilities
The selected auditor will be required to:
• Conduct audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Present audit reports to the International Governing Council (IGC) and issue
management letters regarding necessary improvements.
• Express a professional opinion on CDD’s financial position regarding projects and
expenditures.
• Evaluate compliance with statutory obligations and government registration
requirements.
• Assess compliance with donor agency guidelines.
• Verify the maintenance of appropriate accounting books, records, and supporting
documents.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems for monitoring expenditures and
safeguarding assets.
• Ensure project assets are properly managed and recorded in the fixed assets register
per CDD/Donor policy.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Hold a current practicing license with ICAN.
• Must be registered with Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of Nigeria
• Have at least 5 years experience in similar roles within the development sector.
• Have qualified and competent staff for the assignment.
• Have Partners/Key staff who are ICAN-certified Chartered Accountants with at least
10 years experience in accounting and related fields.

Note: Applicants are responsible for all costs related to the preparation and submission of their
proposals. This invitation does not constitute a contract or a commitment of any kind by CDD.
The proposal should list the auditor or audit firm’s full legal name, office physical address(es),
contact numbers, emails, TIN (Tax Identification Number) and Company registration number
and/or licence number. A copy of all registration and licenses must be included. Also, a list of
clients, especially Non-Governmental Organizations, should be included.
Curriculum Vitae (CVs) must be provided by the Partner of the firm who shall be responsible
for signing the opinion, together with the CVs of managers, supervisors and key personnel
proposed as part of the audit team.
The Fee should be quoted in NGN (Nigerian Naira). Please note that Fees are liable to
withholding tax deduction.
