The Director of the Centre for Democracy and Development, Idayat Hassan, will be a participating at the 2018 Africa Think Tank Summit, scheduled to hold in Rabat, Morocco, from 9th to 11th of May 2018. At the meeting themed: “Deepening Expertise and Enhancing Sustainability: Insight into Contemporary Challenges Facing African Think Tanks,” our Director will be speaking at, alongside other African scholars, the “Think Tank Presidents’ Panel” session as well as “Women and Think Tanks: How to Provide Better Representation in Policy Making Dialogue.”
Also, in attendance are H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, Former President of Nigeria and Board Member, Africa Progress Panel; H.E Ambassador Mohammed Methqal, Director, the Moroccan Agency of International Development; and Her Excellency, Mrs. Mounia Boucetta, Secretary of State in charge of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Kingdom of Morocco, amongst other African scholars.
The forum will offer most influential and innovative think tanks in Africa and beyond opportunity to discuss contemporary issues they are facing, pertaining to the challenges of expertise deepening, the role of the media and the press in propelling the African agendas, the role of think tanks in driving the African diaspora and in building an inclusive policy dialogue and more. The Think Tank meeting is hosted by OCP Policy Center and the Think Tank and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania, with the support of the the Moroccan Agency of International Development, the Asian Development Bank
